Recently at the IHQ meeting (21.11.07), it was decided to revert back to the Winter Season.
Due to this decision, the current Summer Season will conclude for Seniors on or around the 16th December and the Juniors on the 9th December. These dates are the last of the Summer Season games being played on Sunday afternoon and evenings. A break will then held for Christmas.
The new season will commence on the 1st March 2008. The only hockey being conducted during the months of January and February for the Southern Stars will be the Sunday mornings for Junior and Seniors and the Senior Social games on Monday nights.
All players from all clubs are welcome to participate in these events. Further details for the events can be obtained by email info@starsicehockey.com.au or contacting Kathy 0422 989 910

Senior Social Games
The Senior Social Games proposal has been sanctioned by IHQ to commence in December and conclude by no later than 14th February 2008.
Thank you to all who have shown an interest in the format.
Southern Stars have been asked to oversee the events and therefore, an email addressed to those who have expressed an interest will be receiving an email in the coming days outlining the details for payment and registration.

Winter or Summer Season Resolve
Last night (21/11/07), IHQ recommended that the competitive Season revert back to the Winter months for 2008.
Exhibition Games for the Seniors will commence in the week beginning 14th February 2008 with the official season kicking off on the 1st March 2008, and finishing by the 1st September 2008.
Juniors will commence their season with a drafting into teams and will also kick off their season in the week of 1st March 2008, and finishing up by the 1st September 2008.
During the Summer months, Clubs will be able to run in house drop in sessions only. IHQ sanctioning for any programs running over the Summer months will need to be sought by the Club and presented at the IHQ General Meeting prior to the Official season ending (September).

Southern Stars AGM
The Southern Stars Annual General Meeting will be held on the Saturday 15th December 2007. The AGM will require nominations for the Club Committee to the current Secretary no later than 10th December.

Junior & Senior Development
Development Training is continuing at Acacia Ridge Iceworld rink every fortnight for both Juniors and Seniors.
The cost of the session is $10.00. And runs from 9.30-10.30am. All are very welcome to attend. We also welcome to this session any new players who may wish to come and try the sport.

Christmas Gathering and Annual General Meeting

Time : 10am - 2pm
Cost : $5.00 ea
This year, we conducted a poll on our new Blogspot (http://starsicehockey.blogspot.com/) to get your ideas for our Christmas party. Thanks to those who voted!
Our AGM will be conducted and the nominations for the new Committee will be voted on. A Treasurer's Report will be delayed to the next meeting as the Auditors will still have the Club books.
Please show your support and register your acceptance of the invitation by not later than Wednesday 12th December for catering purposes.Volunteers are needed to bring the footies, cricket ware and volleyballs - No Hockey gear required!
PLEASE BRING A CHAIR OR BLANKET TO SIT ON - Cooks required!
